Copenhagen, literally “The Port of Traders” is located on the island of Amager, where join the North Sea and Baltic Sea, giving the city the typical atmosphere of the northern cities. Marathon Copenhagen has a reputation of being a flat course, facilitating personal bests. If the start and finish will be along the water on Islands Brygge, following the route will take you to discover the city, passing by famous landmarks such as the Tivoli, the Little Mermaid, the Castle Christiansborg or city Hall who will draw up a typical canvas background to this Nordic race.
With 12,000 participants expected in 2012, the Copenhagen marathon is becoming increasingly important in the Nordic countries, just behind that of Stockholm.
